We were told by the ego, that to be strong we must not show emotion,
so we grow up drowning in our sorrows.
We mask the painful feelings, we distract ourselves, but we were never told to fully feel them.
We mistake happiness with temporary pleasure and thought we could cure our suffering with pills.
We were told that what we need is a partner or a husband or a wife that would complete us
so we went around half empty because we didn’t take the time to fill our own hearts.
We tolerated scraps and kissed too many frogs because no one told us that we deserved to be respected and treasured like stars.
We were told to keep silent because speaking up causes waves
and things must stay the same in this ever changing world.
We clung so hard to resentment and bitterness because the world taught us we need to fight fair, so
we played like victims or acted like little children who didn’t get their chocolates.
We were not taught to let go and forgive, so we remained unhealed for a long time.
“Change is risky, don’t go into the water,” ego said.
No, we were not told that life is about growth and constant progress.
The ego said that to be powerful, we have to put others down and manipulate, not come from a place of integrity, humility and service.
We were told that to be successful, we have to fill our bank accounts and accumulate beautiful possessions,
so we work and work some more at jobs we dislike just to keep up.
No one told us about the light that we all possess, about the power that lie within ourselves. No one openly spoke that suffering is part of life so
we found the truth after we were already broken, which in hindsight made us the more stronger. We went out asking and searching and realized that
fulfillment is a mere remembering.
Listen to the language of love and be sensitive to its voice so you may know the truth and rise up from the lies you had been fed.
You are amazing,
You are a beautiful light.
You are loved.
Dear one, these things you must no longer forget.
