Becoming the person that we want to become is a journey.  It does not happen overnight.  It takes a lot of self-discipline, self-awareness and humility to be able to look at ourselves and accept that which we need to change in order to grow.  Any goal requires us to have the knowledge to attain those goals.  If we want to be happy, we need resources that will make us happy.

Any type of progress will start from one’s motivation to change and improve.  It starts with the self. No one will do it for us.  We have to be willing to take the steps to get where we want to be and to accept that we need help.  We cannot do it alone.

The ego will either say, “I am perfect,” or on the other side of the spectrum, “I am worthless.”  But the person who wants to walk on the path of freedom and empowerment will say, “I am a student, learning every day.  I am growing.  I am willing to look within so that I can live out my purpose. I am going to learn as much as I can about myself and how I can best serve humanity.”

Reading is just one of those things that help us grow.  Aside from the Bible, here are some of my favorite books that had helped me throughout the years.
